There are a number of insurance companies that have developed a No-load product, or products, as an entry to the fee planning professional market.
Some of these companies keep their products on the "shelf", only to be used in high profile cases, or in large case competitive situations. Consequently, large corporations and very high profile, high net worth clients have had exposure to the product, and it has become the product of choice. Unfortunately, these companies do not give this excellent product exposure to the general public, or to their sales force.
Other companies have tried to "test" the market by taking their traditional commissioned product and stripping out the agents commission. However, as the high loads and general agent overrides are left in, the product is only a "wannabe" and does not bring to the consumer the advantages of a true no-load policy.
And there are those companies that put a product out to see what will happen, but are not committed to the fee planning professional; such as not providing software to allow plan design, being under or non-staffed, not having resource personnel, farming out their underwriting, or not responsive to follow-up/questions/communications.
Consumers should lean toward those companies that work responsively with professional advisors in order to maximize the advantages of the product.
